MeowLinguistics ("the App") is a research-based cat language interpretation app, available on iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, where it lives, and how we protect your information.
MeowLinguistics（「本應用程式」）是一款根據學術研究詮釋貓語的應用，提供 iOS 與 Android 版本。本隱私政策說明我們收集哪些資料、資料存放於何處，以及我們如何保護您的資訊。
MeowLinguistics collects almost no data about you. We do not track you across apps, we do not sell anything to ad networks, and we do not have a backend that stores your translations. Two kinds of data may leave your device: (1) anonymous crash & diagnostic reports, sent to Sentry (an error-monitoring service) so we can fix bugs; and (2) when you use voice input, your microphone audio is sent to your device's system speech recognizer (Apple on iOS, Google on Android) to turn speech into text. The App does not store your voice recordings — only the resulting text stays on your device.

Voice input is optional — it only runs when you tap the microphone. When you do, the App records short audio and passes it to your device's built-in speech recognizer (Apple's on iOS, Google's on Android) to convert it to text. That recognizer may send the audio over the network to its provider to perform recognition; this is the same system service other apps use for dictation, and it is governed by Apple's / Google's own privacy policies. MeowLinguistics does not upload or keep your recordings — the temporary audio file is deleted after processing, and only the recognized text is kept on your device.

On iOS, the system may ask on first launch whether to allow tracking across apps. MeowLinguistics does not track you across apps regardless of your answer, and does not use an advertising identifier. Android has no such prompt because the App likewise does no cross-app tracking there.
在 iOS，系統可能會在您首次啟動時詢問是否允許跨應用追蹤。不論您選擇允許或不允許，MeowLinguistics 都不會追蹤您，也不使用廣告識別碼。Android 沒有這個提示，因為本應用在 Android 同樣不做任何跨應用追蹤。

When you tap a citation link in About / Onboarding (e.g., JSTOR for Moelk 1944), the App opens that website in your browser. The website may set its own cookies — that is outside MeowLinguistics's control. See those sites' privacy policies for details.

MeowLinguistics is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any data from children. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

Because we don't collect linkable personal data, there is nothing on our servers to access, rectify, port, or delete. Your translation history is on your device — you control it (see how to clear local data).

If we materially change what we collect (e.g., when Phase 2 adds Premium subscriptions), we will update this page with a new "Last updated" date and surface a notice in-app.
